Bristow Helicopters is one of our oldest clients and
one of the ones from which we have got several repeat
projects.
In 1999,
they commissioned us to present to them a design and
build proposal for the refurbishment of 15 bungalows
used by their pilots in the Idugboe estate beside
the Shell Estate in Ogunu in Warri, Delta state.
Since these
houses were used exclusively by the Bristow pilots,
part of the project would involve the construction
of a road to link the Idugboe estate houses with the
Shell Estate.
We submitted
our proposal drawings and bills of quantities and
started negotiations with Bristow Helicopters.
Although
we received approvals in 2000, with a projected cost
of N65million at the time, we did not start construction
on the project until April 2002. For this reason we
came to a mutual agreement on the revision of the
project cost to about $840,000.00 ( N92.12million).
Of the
15 houses, 13 have been completed and handed over
to the client and the remaining 2 houses have been
left for completion on a later date.
