After winning a competition to design an office complex at Mosley Road Ikoyi, the Nigerian Conservation foundation decided to embark on a low profile office complex at the Lekki Conservation Centre.
The original design incorporated an ecological concept, using solar panels and energy conservation. Due to a very tight budget, the client has earmarked the energy system to a later phase.
The building benefits from cross ventilation under its substructure, as pilots were designed to enable the building stand above the sandy, wet soil without requiring additional sand filling or sub-structural conditioning. These were sensitive issues that needed to be considered, as the client is the National Conservation Foundation. The project was completed in 1997. |
