The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) is to deploy new aviation equipment that will facilitate safe take-off and landing of aircraft at the Ilorin Airport.

NAMA's Managing Director, Captain Rowland Iyayi, made this known last Thursday in Ilorin when he made a courtesy call on the Kwara State Deputy Governor, Chief Joel Ogundeji.

He said the first batch of the equipment would be delivered by the end of the month.

Iyayi said the last batch would be delivered and installed between November and December, adding that the agency had earlier provided equipment for a hitch-free operation at the airport.

He commended the state government for resuscitating the airport through the provision of structures and facilities that had made it one of the best in the country.

Responding, Ogundeji praised NAMA for its effort at improving the aviation industry and putting in place safety measures.
